The yellow cross

Make a yellow cross on the top face.

Goal of this step

Time for the last layer. Focus on the yellow top face. First, we want a yellow cross: the 4 top edges must show yellow on top.

Look at the top of the cube (ignoring the corners). You will always see one of these three patterns: a dot, an “L”, or a line.

A yellow line: hold it horizontally, then do the algorithm.

A yellow "L": hold it in the top-left (pointing back and left).

A single yellow dot: combine both algorithms.

Only look at the yellow edges (the cross): the yellow corners don't matter yet.
If you only remember the first algorithm, don't worry: repeat it, using U to reset the L to the back-left or the line to horizontal each time: you'll go from dot to L, from L to line, then to the cross.
